Nutcracker – Land of Sweets is a wonderful opportunity for your dancer to participate in a beloved holiday ballet classic. Unique to Bloom, our production features student dancers ages 18 and under as the primary performers.

If your dancer enjoys ballet, we highly recommend auditioning for Bloom’s Nutcracker—it’s an experience they will never forget. Bloom’s Nutcracker is rooted in the heart of giving every dancer who auditions the opportunity to participate; therefore, there is a limited number of dancers who can be cast.

The Nutcracker program begins over the summer with our Ballet Intensive and Nutcracker Audition, then rehearses every Saturday from September through November to prepare for a full weekend of performances in December.

• Dancers must be students ages 9 - 18 years or Cultivate dancers ages 7 - 8 years.

• Audition age is determined by the dancer’s age as of October 1st.

• Dancers must be enrolled in a Ballet technique class for the duration of the season.

• Dancers must be currently enrolled in a ballet class (at Bloom or another dance studio) prior to the audition to be eligible for auditions. (For example, dancers must be taking ballet for the 25-26 season in order to be eligible for the 2026 production).

• Nutcracker dancers must have a commitment to attendance at all rehearsals and performances, and are only allowed 2 absences.

• Nutcracker dancers must sign a participation contract.

• Nutcracker parents must sign a communication agreement.

Please note:

• There is no alternative audition date as we announced our required ballet intensive and audition in January of 2025. 

• Dancers will register for their audition group based on their age as of July 1st, 2026.

2026 Nutcracker Ballet Intensive & Auditions:

• We’ve separated the week into two parts. Attendance at both the Intensive and Audition is mandatory for Nutcracker participation:

  • Part 1: Ballet Intensive (Required)

    • Dates: Monday - Thursday, July 13th - 16th, 2026

    • Times:

      • Morning Session: Dancers aged 12-18 - 9:00am - 12:00pm
        Afternoon Session: Dancers aged 9-11 (Cultivate dancers 7-8) - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

        • Placement: By age

        • Participation: Full attendance required all four days (M-Th)

  • Part 2: Nutcracker Auditions (Required)

    • Date: Friday, July 17th, 2026

    • Eligibility: Only dancers who complete the full Intensive (M-Th) may audition. No alternate auditions will be offered.

    • Times:

      • Morning Session: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

      • Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

    • Placement: By age

    • Details: This day will differ from the Intensive and serve as our formal audition process.

    • Casting: Every dancer will receive a role; some may repeat roles from previous years.

• Parents will register dancers for the full week (one price) which will encompass both the Nutcracker Ballet Intensive and Nutcracker Audition.

• All dancers who audition will receive a role in the Nutcracker Program; therefore, our program has a maximum number of dancers we can accept.

• We assume that every dancer who auditions will commit to participating in ballet technique for the upcoming season and can already commit to Saturday rehearsals between 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM, as well as every mandatory rehearsal (no exceptions). 

• Post audition, dancers will receive an email with their specific role, rehearsal time, schedule, and contract to sign as their official commitment to the Nutcracker Production.

• Please Note: Dancers who decline their role will be unable to participate next year out of fairness to all who wish to participate.

This Nutcracker is designed for ballet dancers aged 18 years old and under as the main focus of our production. However, we seek volunteer character roles to support our production and create a magical experience for both our audience and dancers! These roles include:

Character roles do not need to be present for the ballet intensive or audition week. However, you must be able to attend all mandatory dates listed in the season overview and attend 50% of all listed rehearsals.

July Ballet Intensive & Nutcracker Audition: $199/week upon registration.

• Withdrawal policy:

  • Before June 1st, 50% Refund

  • After June 1st, No Refund

Nutcracker Program: $300/one-time fee on July 31st.
